How Time Flies

Wow... not even a month till Christmas! I have been so busy making things time just flew by and now I am going to have to step it up and get shopping...and baking! I am looking for some new ideas ... I think I'm getting stale... so maybe, just maybe it's time to crack open that die cutting set I bought before I started all my tins and cards! Does anyone else do that to themselves... buy something and make yourself wait till you have the things done you just have to get finished first?? Or am I the only one mean to myself out there!!

On To Mini Albums!

I am now tired of cards and clocks and tins... so it's on to chipboard... yes... more mini albums but this time using my favorite product! I was very lucky one day browsing at Michaels and found a number of different shapes of bare chipboard... here is what I made from a flower shape:

the small circle hangs down... it's just upright to show off the title! The paper is some of my favorite... it's older but I loved it too much to use...!

Then there is this one made with small coasters... under 4" square. I love working with smaller albums and if I was keeping it and had photos mounted in it, I would be adding lots more chipboard and some flowers!

This is really all pinks but for some reason the photo comes out looking a little orange!
And that's it for now... time for a rest and maybe a few layouts!

I Think I'm 'Tinned' out!!

Well... that was fun... but I think the CD tin and mini album faze has run it's course... now it's on to other things! Meanwhile, here is a couple of tins I've just done (sorry this must be getting boring but I have to post them somewhere... ha ha ha!)

hope you've enjoyed having a look!

I'm On A Roll...

I am still working on tin mini albums... not too fancy because Kate is selling things at a craft sale ... I am making them for that and leaving them unembellished mostly so whoever might want one can either just add their photos or also embellish them however they want. Or... I will end up with lots of albums in tins to add my own embellishments to after the photos!! Oh yeah... and I used some of my favorite Basic Grey paper too!! Oh the stress... my hoard is actually coming out of the drawers!

the flowers are pop dotted on these two tins.
the cardstock isn't really orange... it's just the lighting in here.

I've added stickles glitter to the brads on the crown.
Yes.... something for a boy!

More Tins!

It's almost time to make something else for awhile... here are a few more tins! I does feel good to use up some of the paper stashed away though... I need to make room for some new stuff!

Each one has a mini album and some random embellishments inside.

I'm Tired of Clocks!

Now I'm into mini albums in a tin!! Here are a couple I've done today...
This little album was done with paper available from Colleen at Dragonfly Scrapbooking... I loved working with it, it is a full bodied double-sided paper.

This is some My Mind's Eye paper that I had in my stash.
I have so many tins and so much paper I thought it was time to make something other than clocks!! I guess you can tell what my other favorite embellishment is besides chipboard!

I'm On A Roll

playing with clocks that is... lol! I really like altering things... just like I have to have things kitty corner and not flat against walls, I like to change plain things up a little. Here is another cheap little clock with some paper from My Mind's Eye and again, my favorite thing... chipboard! I've discovered Zip Dry adhesive so I used that to stick down the frame... I hope it is as good as I hear it is cause I'd sure hate to have the frame fall off at some point! (the frame is covered and sanded... for ages and ages... but it is hard to see the paper in this little photo!) I've also painted the second hand... it was red and just too hard on the eyes.

Thank you for suggestions!

Isn't it funny how you just know something is missing when you're working on a project... but just what??!! Thanks for the input my friends... I have added something a little different but it works for me... and it's not a flower... lol!! Although it kinda looks like one big flower now ... I've added my favorite embellishment.... chipboard!!

A Dilemma...

I am altering some clocks... it's hard to imagine what someone else would like so I am trying to make this particular clock a little bit plain... like the first photo but I think it needs something else... any suggestions? The photo is a little dull due to the lighting here but the frame is white and the paper a little lighter than in this photo.

If it was for me I know what I'd do, I would add a nice big sunflower to it something like in this second photo (I'm just holding it on here...!)

I've trimmed the outside of the frame with some rope-like woven stuff. Maybe it's just that there is a sort of blank spot where there is writing on the paper that has me boggled... I like things 'filled up'!!

Cards, cards and way too many cards!

I have been making Christmas cards all week... well, in between playing games on Facebook and taking some time to sleep (which I should be doing right now as it's 4.24 am!). I am not really into the whole glitter, shiny thing but as the pile of cards grew so did the idea that they needed a little something... and since I am a dud at embossing (and believe me I tried) I decided to pull out the glimmer mist and glitter. To make a long story shorter... my carpet is covered in glitter and so is just about every other surface in this room!! I am afraid to go upstairs... maybe a shower down here is a good idea! Anyway, I made 48 Christmas cards and so far 19 other ones (I changed up the ones I previously posted... they were too dull!) For some reason the glitter doesn't really show up too much - I guess it's the lighting in here; and I pop dotted a lot of them as well to give dimension.
(If you click on the photo it will get bigger)

I know this is a long post!! But thanks for looking!

Remembering

Today (the 11th... it's after midnight now) I stayed home for the most part of the day... remembering. Not just those men and women who fought and died but of those who survived and made a life for themselves and their families even after the chaos of war. My parents and their siblings and friends lived through those times and because of them we were raised in relative peace. I am grateful for that and so I sat throughout the day and thought about my parents, my grandparents and aunts and uncles now resting together in peace.

So I've Done Some Cards...

I have a really hard time with cards... I guess I could scrap lift but I think I am just lazy! Kate is making some to sell at a craft fair so I thought I'd help her out and do some too... I'm also supposed to be doing some altered clocks but cards just seem to be one of those things that don't involve lots of movement....LOL... I am in Lazy Mode! Here are some I've done - I still have to decide on sentiments... I was thinking to maybe make some on separate paper and enclose a couple of different ones along with a glue dot in with the card.... so far I've done 20 cards some similar to these.

A Word of Caution

I know many of you like to distress your photos by sanding the edges... me too! However... I never really thought about where all that sanding 'dust' goes because I usually only do a few at a time. A couple of nights ago I really got into it while working on a mini album and sanded about 100 photos... yes... the mini album has gotten FAT... ! As the night went on I was noticing how stuffed up I'd gotten and even though I have a cold, it was pretty bad and it seemed all of a sudden ... and my chest was congested too. I didn't really pay attention but the next morning when I went to brush my teeth... I noticed my teeth were kind of dark... thinking I'd better cut down on the coffee and late nights, I brushed and spit... and out came UGLY LOOKING BLACK STUFF... I took a look in my mouth and my tongue was absolutely black...! Freaked out I brushed it and brushed and brushed... then drank water and other fluids like crazy... I also made myself cough and kept blowing my nose. Today... two days later... I am finally cleared out with just a little bit of a stuffy nose from the cold.

Last night I wore a mask and from now on I will do that... who knows what's in all that photo stuff... it can't be good to breathe in... I don't want to have a craft I really enjoy be what puts me in the ground!!
