Week 3 of the Oldies Challenge

This is such a fun little crop that I am doing... scrapping the oldies and this time I had them all and got the scrambled words! Here is Maria once again... I really better get some of the other grandkids on my layouts!

I'm Doing a Crop

at Art Freckles... and we have to use our old stash!! I am hoping to get through each week without using a 'poodle pass' (ha ha ha) and also using up lots of my old paper so I can buy some new lines! Here is a layout I made using 3 bugs in a rug... thanks Colleen (dragonflyscrapbooking.com) - without you I'd be sunk!

A Little Scrapping!

Today it is raining...a good day to stay inside and break out the paper! Here is a quick and simple layout I've done using Basic Grey's Periphery paper and some of the die cuts the package comes with.

Relay for Life

On June 5th I am joining many others in the Relay For Life walk to raise money to find a cure for cancer. I’ve thought long and hard on what to say to you all and I guess it all comes down to this – we’ve all been touched in some way by this terrible disease. We’ve either survived through it ourselves or watched a friend or loved one travel that road. I should have paid more attention to the devastation caused by this disease but like many others tended to pretend it didn’t exist in my world.

It all came crashing down and slapped me in the heart when my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer in March of 1996 at the age of 69. I was with her at diagnosis and through the next few months, taking care of her until just after her 70th birthday in July, when she left us with a promise to “save me a seat on the bus.” I will always miss her.

It's Easter!

We had such a great morning... although starting it at 6:30 am was a little much! Maria had fun hunting for Easter eggs and was so excited to actually find ones that were in shiny paper and had something inside of them!


She was so good at not eating a lot of her chocolate... she only ate two of the little ones and gave us all some, then said she wanted to save the big chocolate bunnies for sharing at the dinner table and would save the rest for when she visits. What control!!

FINALLY!

My computer is back... or should I say the NEW ONE that they gave me to replace it!!! Yes... a new computer! How sweet is that?! Now all I need to do is get everything loaded onto it but after all the back and forth to Vancouver stuff I am totally worn out from the driving to and fro so will just take my time reloading. I did have a back up drive but am going to be very selective on reloading cause it is from my old computer...with the failed TWO HARD DRIVES and maybe it was something else... who knows, so I am going to start as fresh as I can.

I was initially really upset that my computer of less than a year failed but decided to be sweet (yes, I know it's hard for me LOL) and nice to the tech guy and after lots of convesations I think we even got to be friends... ha ha ha! Anyway, after I had decided to be nice things were going good but I was still thinking that I really just wanted a new computer cause I was a little amazed at how wrong the old one got. Some of this thinking is the result of a seminar Bruce and I went to in Kelowna last month (after we dropped the broken computer off), regarding creating Harmonic Wealth by James Arthur Ray (one of the people from The Secret) in your life. So, imagine my happy surprise when today the tech phoned me and said, "I've decided to give you a new computer, I found one at one of the other stores!" Talk about the power of drawing what you want and good things to your life! So, thank you Kate for letting me know about the seminar!

Ms Easter Bunny

Who says the Easter Bunny is a guy?! I don't know why I've always thought of the Easter Bunny as HE... we all know where little bunnies come from...maybe not by egg but from a HER...so here is Ms.Easter Bunny!

Since my computer is in the hospital getting a new hard drive and I only have a few photos on this one (not 7 folders!) I had to cheat a little and just pick my 7th photo in the one folder I have... here it is:

I'm getting some photos ready for a little mini album and layout. Hopefully we will have Maria here at Easter and can hide some eggs and get some photos with her!

Now is just have to find 7 friends that might not be doing it already...so, I'm off to find some cause of course all my info is on my sick computer...and hopefully on my back up drive!
