Merry Christmas!

Time has sure gone fast this year! I sometimes wonder how I managed everything when I was working and had young kids to take care of... I guess when being a young working mother I was just in a state of stress for so long that time just whirled by and I did what had to be done when it had to be done instead of thinking... 'well, maybe tomorrow'!! Now I would like time to go more slowly.. mainly so if feels like I have longer to live! It's true, you know, retirement is busier than you all think... what with naps and such to take up a few hours every day! And did you know, cartoons are pretty interesting sometimes?

I have been doing a little scrapbooking but not as much as usual with Maria here... 7 year olds are such busy little creatures and she keeps me on my toes! Here is a card I made recently for a challenge at Sisterhood of Scrap:

and one I made my sister for her birthday:

It seems like...

I am always mentioning how it's been so long since I've posted... but there it is... it's been a long time!!! Since Maria came to live here life has sped by so fast and at my age that is not something I want to happen!! I have realized as I've gotten older that time is going way too fast and there is still so much I want to get done in life before I meet the Big Guy! Like.. getting the house finished... it's been a work in progress since 1986 and it seems like there is always something to do or fix or create around here or in the yard. I am trying to stick to my crafting but with a 7 year old who loves to craft and needs help with all kinds of things, I don't seem to be getting much done except enjoying Maria which is a biggy!! She has been helping me with Christmas baking and loves it... I am hoping to teach her to cook... yes, I do have an ulterior motive for that one cause I am really getting tired of being the chief cook around here!! I don't have much to upload because my desktop computer died at the worst possible time so I am using the laptop that is mostly for travel. But here is something I've done lately for a gift. It started off with a kraft box full of note papers.
