Summer Is Leaving...

Fall feels like it's just around the corner here on the west coast... you can feel the slight bit of dampness in the air especially at night and the spiders are building their webs close to the house and under things away from the weather we will be getting sooner than we think. Thinking of summer and all the pretty flowers got me pulling out some of my favorite flower photos to scrap... I used a sketch from http://sossummerysketchbook.blogspot.com/ and here is what I came up with:

I JUST NOTICED...

That blogger now has a comments box so you can click onto it and see all of the comments at once... how neat is that!!! It's been quite awhile since I've had a spammer hit me here but it has happened so this makes it a lot easier to check things out.

I have been scrapbooking a lot this summer so have now gotten to the point of where I just have to get out some of the old photos and get my family tree scrapbooked into albums. I am going to have to sort through all my paper and finally decide to use some of my favorite Basic Grey vintage looking papers. I also love Cosmo Cricket but sometimes that is hard to use... I did make this though...

Some Fun in the heat!

Well... I am definately not a sun person... it has been so hot that between naps and meals all I've been doing is scrapbooking! At the Sisterhood of Scrap we are having lots of fun with challenges and now there is a sketch blog on the go that we have done some sketches for and then layouts. Normally I don't follow sketches... but now that I have, it will probably become a habit! Here is one from a sketch I had to make from a photo I had to take of something linear. I used some Graphic 45 paper that I've been hoarding for awhile.
It looks a little crooked ... maybe it's time I learned to stitch photos so I can scan my layouts!

Today I wandered

over to Jo's post! Now there is a great blog...full of insight and inspiration and meandering thoughts.. I love reading 'Jo'! As I read the post of August 11th it got me thinking all sorts of things... how we get going down the different roads of our lives and sometimes get caught up in staying on the road we think we should be following. I like Jo's yellow brick road, that's where I'd like to be about now, in that fantasy land of munchkins and good witches. I'd like to be able to click my little red slippers and fly away!

But, I can't, so I pull out my paper and glue and some photos and away I go into the fantasy of putting a page together that makes me happy! This one is a simple layout of what makes me smile first thing in the morning before that huge cup of coffee. It isn't 'designer' or made of 'new' paper or even full of embellishments but it makes me smile and that is what scrapbooking should be all about!

Great Fun with Sketches

I've never been much of a sketch user but love looking at them! This past week I have been doing layouts using the sketches on the Sisterhood of Scraps new blog... we are having a great time with challenges there and now this... fun, fun, fun! And that is the way I saw this layout....

However... they might not think it's so funny!! It was a long trip home and both of them fell sound asleep...if you notice there are ear buds in Desi's ears too!
