Try a Blog Hop!!

I was asked if I wanted to take part in a blog hop... I thought it sounded like fun... here are the details..

Welcome to Lovebug Scrapbooking's "INSPIRE US!" blog hop!! Our blog hops take place on the last Saturday of every month. Thanks so much for joining us! If you just happened by this blog and didn't realize a blog hop was taking place, please go back to Lovebug Scrapbooking http://www.lovebugscrapbooking.wordpress.com// and start the Hop. You won't want to miss all the inspiration from our members....... or the prizes :-) Our theme for May is "Graduation".
-------------------------------------------------
I have been making grow charts for my grandchildren... this one is going to be given to my oldest granddaughter when she graduates in two years... I love how these charts show how they've grown... unfortunately we didn't start measuring until she was about 5 or 6 years old.

I am having a draw for a small rak for anyone who follows my blog... just leave your details on how I can get hold of you if your name is drawn!
-------------------------------------------------
This blog hop will run from today, May 29th until June 1st. We will be drawing for winners on June 2nd. Follow along on our blog hop! Your next stop is
with Carla at http://www.myscrappyness.blogspot.com/

For some reason... this big space won't delete...!!!!

Growing Kids!

Oh... they grow so fast! Years ago my grandkids mother wrote their heights on a section of the kitchen wall because we were in a hurry to get them measured before they went home... we had good intentions of getting a really nice piece of wood and marking the measurements there. To make a long story short... or maybe longer... we got lazy and took an old piece of floor trim to transfer the marks so I could wash the wall... today, that ugly old piece of trim is the first thing the 6 year old runs for when she visits to see if she is taller than the last time she visited (sometimes only 2 weeks ago.. lol!).

So, when I saw the grow charts by Creative Imaginations, I bought 5 and started getting them ready to transfer heights into!! I will give them to the kids when they graduate. Here are some of the photos... there are 8 different pages on each chart so I didn't do them all - this is just to give you an idea of what they're like. I love that they come with self stick measuring tape.

This is the youngest of the grandkids so her chart is still pretty short! I've done a little decorating on the rest of the pages and now I just need for her to grow and get older!
She is such a sweet little baby.

And a happy little girl!

I Also Love Paper Bags

And especially small paper bags! Now that I have found another way to put them together so that when they're filled with paper and photos they actually close! I've made this one for my brother for his birthday (we both have too much stuff to buy things!) about a special time in our lives... oh what fun we had! This is a way better use for paper bags than for groceries... or squished lunches.

Just a simple cover for a simple time.

He is with Winky here... his dog that ate rocks... big rocks... he'd whine and chew and go crazy trying to eat boulders!
And that funny kid with the goggles on her head is me!

We were close... we've grown apart through the years but we still have these memories.

Yes, they went out fishing by themselves in a little dinghy and look what they caught... the worst part about it all was my Dad had us clean what we caught... ugh... but we learned to appreciate a good piece of fish!
There's a little Tom Sawyer in all boys I think!
We were so lucky... when we were even younger that some of these photos, we were out with boats and on the water in the bay... we were usually covered in dried salt water most of the summer - we had the time of our lives with so many great memories. I am so lucky to have found the negatives of these photos and then to have gotten a scanner to scan them with... the photos turned out pretty good for such old negatives!

I've Always Loved....

LITTLE BOXES!!

So I bought a die for my Big Shot and then let it sit for awhile till a little project came my way... can't post it here but I did make a couple of different ones for myself... just to look at...

There is just so much you can do to a box... depending on the shape of course! These ones are like little bags but to me they're a box. Here are a couple of takes on the shape... I am going to make some for an advent treat for my grandkids so as I gather up little things to put in them, I am going to get some sets ready for all 5 of them this coming Christmas.

This one is made using kraft cardstock and is just a plain little gift holder.

This one was made with cardstock... it was a little stiff but that was okay, it still worked out fine. I covered a piece of chipboard with paper then traced it onto cardstock so I could make an offset to attach to it so it would show up a little better against the paper on the box... I like how it turned out. I find it hard to use my chipboard...I am a hoarder!!
