Catch up Day!

Well... what a trip we had! On Wednesday we headed to Kelowna to visit family but went via Princeton so we could visit Kris in Oliver. We had our GPS and the address loaded.... see this very snowy and high mountain... looks kinda nice doesn't it?

Well... we took a wrong turn at Keremeos... and decided to go with what the GPS said... and drove through this really big orchard... and kept going...

Up this road that got narrower and narrower and more covered with snow and ice... and went all the way to Oliver on it... it was too narrow in most places to turn around! We just prayed we didn't meet another vehicle. Bruce was looking a little freaked out and said... let's check if we have a cell signal... bad move... no signal!!! We always seem to get an adventure out of our trips... and that wasn't the end of it all either... there's more...

So, we got to my birth mum's place and unloaded our stuff and visited with the grandkids... and on Friday we went to the malls and wandered around waiting till school got out. It all started with a pain in the back... we went to visit more family and were just finishing a coffee when Bruce couldn't stand the pain anymore... he'd taken a couple of T3's that didn't do anything. So I took he back to where we were staying ... he took more pain meds...heavy duty ones... I went to visit the grandkids and watch a movie with them. By 7:00 I was driving to get Bruce and take him to the hospital... he had a kidney stone rattling around in there and couldn't take the pain anymore, nothing was working...it was really dark, had started to snow and was icy... I got him to the hospital in Kelowna.. parked and put money in the meter (twice!)...

I had lots of minutes left when after 4 shots of something and near midnight... we went out to the car and found a parking ticket on the window!! I had parked in a handicapped space but there was no sign on this meter... or some of the others and the painted sign on the pavement was not visible in the dark and glare... I drove there today to check if they had mistaken. I am hoping to get them to let me off of paying a fine since it wasn't properly marked (and I was in a panic too!!)see... no paint! And this is with a flash... it was really, really dark and shiny. Today... Saturday, we headed home - I had to drive because even though the pain was gone... he had a kind of hangover from the medication... so the weather was nice on the connector while he slept awhile...a few snowy, windy, slippery spots but nothing too bad. He took over at Merritt for awhile and the weather changed shortly after that...
not so good for a guy who had such a bad night! I took over as soon as we found a spot and the snow was gone!

You were here in town?
Nice welcome you got with the ticket! The hospital parking is stupid right now. They expect you to park on the other side and walk around.
